Isaiah had returned from serving a LDS mission to Chile and I came home from Utah State University for the summer and we both ended up working at a call center. We had made small talk a few times but things really got going once he locked his keys in his car and asked me to give him a ride home to get his spare. We talked the whole way there and back. He asked me out that night, then the next, then the next. We had a fun summer working all day then hanging out every day after work until much too late, then doing it over and over again. At the end of the summer he talked me into not returning to school and a month later we were engaged. We had a lot of fun that summer but what we most loved about each other was that we could just sit and talk about anything. It was great.
On February 6th, 2004 we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. Isaiah went to school full time
and worked full time and I worked full time as well. He graduated from the University of Utah in December 2008 with a degree in
Communications and I later graduated with an Associates in Science from Salt Lake Community College.
In our childless days (Isaiah and Rosie
BC - before children) we loved traveling and hanging out with friends. We went
to Mexico, Hawaii,
and even traveled by motorcycle to Lake Tahoe.
It was a good life! In 2008 when we were told we wouldn't be able to conceive
on our own with put in our adoption papers without hesitation. 18 months later Addison joined our family. Parenthood has changed our
life! We are so grateful to Addison's birth mom and family (we think of them as
Addison's in-laws). We still have a great relationship with them and love keeping in touch.
Lots has changed since Addison was born in 2010. I quit my job and get to stay home and hang out with her all day every day (which is the best job in the world...most days). Isaiah works hard as a business owner to support our family. Life gets busy but we make sure to make our family time count and we love going on "adventures" together, even if that adventure is just a walk to Redbox to get a movie.
Pretty much I look at Isaiah every day and tell him, "We have a great life!"
