Rosie

I have a love/hate relationship with running. I ran track in high school (I did the 800m run and high jump) and have run off an on over the years. One of my favorite events is Ragnar (a 200 mile relay that runs from Logan, UT to Park City, UT). I've run the Utah Ragnar 3 times and even one in Las Vegas. Ragnar got me over my fear of long distance running and I did 2 half marathons last year...I'm currently trying to tell myself I want to run another half marathon this year but can't quite convince myself....(I did mention it was a love/hate relationship).

When Addison was born I thought parenthood would be something like this:

Everything would be the same and we'd just incorporate Addison into mine and Isaiah's life. WRONG! We learned pretty fast that our life was changed and we were getting incorporated into hers.

My life in Addison's world is pretty awesome. A typical day for us involves waking up and helping dad get off to work. After that we make breakfast, work together on chores, then set off on whatever adventure comes our way. We love walking to the shopping center by our house to see the pets at the pet store or going for a bike ride to a splash park. One great thing about our neighborhood is that there are TONS of kids Addison's age so there are always plenty of buddies to join in our fun. At the end of every day Addison tells me it was the best day ever - and considering we've never gone to Disneyland or done anything most kids would consider exciting I feel like that's a pretty good compliment.

Some other bits about me. I like to cook but would much prefer to bake. I make awesome desserts and figure someday people will beg me to open a bakery (haha right ;). I am slightly OCD about organization and neatness. My closet has been arranged in color ascending order since middle school and it never gets out of order. I am super crafty, frugal and creative which helps me save a ton of money. One of my big pet peeves is when someone asks me if I got "that idea" from Pinterest. Um, no, I can even be crafty without Pinterest (although trust me, I do love Pinterest).

{The Boring Stuff}
I am 31 years old. Oddly enough turning 30 was no big deal. I had a MUCH harder time when I turned 25. Why 25? Candles come in boxes of 24 and I now need 2 boxes if I want candles on my birthday cake.

I have an Associates Degree in Science and studied Chemistry in college. Someday I'd love to get my Bachelors Degree in Nutrition.

I have the luxury of being a stay at home mom. I worked until Addison was 10 months old and am grateful that I get to stay home and teach her and raise her every day. Everyone will tell you that being a mom is the best and hardest job in the world, which is the truth whether you get to stay home or have to work. But at the end of the day I love tucking Addison in before I go to bed knowing I have the bestest most awesome kiddo in the world and that part of the reason she is so awesome is because of me.

I am the second of 4 kids. My older brother lives close by and we love hanging out and going running on Monday mornings. My sister lives in Austin, Texas. She and her husband have a super cute little girl who is 1. My youngest brother is serving a mission for our church in Portland Oregon. My dad passed away in Dec of 2005 and was a pretty awesome guy. My mom lives a few hours away. She loves to come hang out and spoil Addison when she goes to stay with her.
